Physical therapy and rehabilitation or Physiatry is a discipline that help individuals improve, maintain and restore maximum body movement and physical function.

It is mainly concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal diseases. The discipline aims to increase and restore the functional ability and quality of life among people with physical disorders or congenital disabilities. Physical therapy helps patients avoid injury, pain or any possible injury. Physical therapy helps patients avoid injury, pain, or future injury. It can be applied at any age. The ultimate goal of the physical therapy is to improve health and quality of life.

Physical therapists start treatment with an evaluation including physical examination. They arrange a treatment plan based on this data, monitor progress and provide practical support for the exercises the patient needs to do. In addition to the clinical practice, the physical therapy profession covers research, education, consultation and management activities. Physical therapy is applied as primary care or in addition to or in conjunction with other medical services.
