Neurology is a branch of medicine that deals with nervous system disorders involving the brain, blood vessels, muscles and nerves. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all conditions and categories of diseases involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including all effector tissues. The main areas of neurology are: Autonomic, central and peripheral nervous systems.

A physician working in the field of neurology is called a neurologist. Neurologists are medical doctors who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and management of many brain and nervous system disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), concussion, epilepsy, migraine, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s.
